May 2015 Meeting

The May meeting was held today with a fantastic turnout.  We had about 10 members and eight violins and one viola.  Several of the instruments were ‘hot off the press’, having been completed since last months meeting.  Also on display was a 100+ year old Italian instrument, a great bench mark for aspiring makers!

20150515_194028A guest to the club, who is under tutelage of one of the members, brought his violin rib mold and scroll, his very first, and another member brought several sets of violin plates (belly and back), including one from the exotic hardwood Jatoba.

Some of our more musically talented members tried out all the instruments with repertoire from classical to folk.  A great treat to hear these instruments put through their paces.
